Gail Griffins bill HB2758 for the Transfer of water out of McMullen Valley, FAILED on the House floor today. It did not go over well for the water thirsty parties, but it is not over yet.
House bill HB 2758 FAILED to pass the House floor today. The vote was 28 for and 29 against with both of our representatives voting for passage.
What does this mean? The bill is not dead yet; however, it has a lot of hoops to jump through, so this is a real setback for those who are in favor of this bill and the transfer of our water out of the Valley to the suburbs of Phoenix. Below we have posted those who voted for and those who voted against and unfortunately it is across party lines. It is unfortunate to see Republicans (regardless of your own affiliation) abandon rural Arizona and turn their backs on us. Holly excepted!
We need to keep up the pressure, and we need to consider this when our representatives run again.
